HISTORY OF RIGA BUILDING COLLEGE

The history of the College dates back to 1872, when the Riga City Council established the German Craftsmen’s Society School. A new building for the needs of the school was erected in 1912 at 3 Gaizina Street (architect R.Schmaeling).

The names of the school have changed over the years. In 1995 by the order of the Ministry of Science and Education the Technical school was renamed the Riga Building College. The process of transferring from the curricula of technicians of vocational education level to curricula of applied higher education started in 2000. Starting from this year I level higher professional education has been carried out.

Riga Building College is a state higher educational institution, accredited for an unlimited period of time, which has its own coat of arms, banner, motto and anthem.
